FOR CITY COUNCIL
ABOUT THERESA
Hello Bay Ward!

About Theresa
As a long-time resident and city councillor for Bay Ward, I care deeply about our community and work every day to find ways to make it better. I listen to residents and find ways to improve city life for us all.
I’m passionate about providing sustainable, affordable housing that meets the needs of all residents, and am proud to serve as Chair of Ottawa Community Housing. Over the past 2 terms as Councillor for Bay Ward, I have championed sustainable development, affordable public transit, funding to maintain or replace aging infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and services and programming for seniors, families, and vulnerable populations.
I also regularly work with neighbourhoods across Bay Ward to implement measures that ensure safe routes for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. All road users need to feel safe as they travel through our community.
Before being elected city councillor, I was a proud Bay Ward School Board Trustee for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. I spent much time speaking with parents and students about their schools and working closely with them on tough decisions such as boundary changes and proposed school closures. I was proud to find a way to keep Regina Street Public School open and to see its many years of success as a unique school with outdoor learning opportunities for students.
Outside of work, I keep busy running marathons, including three Boston Marathons, seven iron distance triathlons (including Ottawa’s first Ironman in 2025) and numerous cross-country ski loppets. I’ve lived in Ottawa for over forty years and am proud to call Bay Ward home.

ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
We’ve accomplished a lot together to make Bay Ward a great place to work and live. But there’s more to do and that’s why I’m running for re-election as your Councillor.
I want to continue to be your strong and experienced voice for Bay Ward at City Hall. I will ensure our community’s needs and concerns are heard, and that we get results.
MY COMMITMENTS
Keeping You Informed
No matter where I go in our ward, I hear how our weekly e-newsletter, the Bay Ward Bulletin has been so helpful in keeping residents informed about what’s happening at City Hall and in their community. My office team and I use this communication to raise and address community concerns and promote events in our neighbourhood. Coupled with social media, town halls and other community events, I keep residents informed.
Working together to find solutions
As a former school board trustee and now as your councillor, I am an experienced voice that can bring parties together to work for local solutions. Most recently I met with the Department of National Defence to find solutions to transportation issues at the Carling Campus and to work with the City to support better transit and active transportation infrastructure to reduce traffic congestion in the area.
I meet regularly with community representatives and individuals to find ways to resolve their priority issues with the City, and I look forward to continuing to serve you.
